Lisa Simmonds
Registered Veterinary Technologist

For as long as she can remember, Lisa had been around animals. When she moved away from home and was unable to have a pet, she realized how much she missed being around animals. It was then that she discovered her career path as a veterinary technician.

Lisa grew up on an acreage just outside of Lethbridge in Alberta. Her family raised pigs and a few llamas. She also had dogs and a lot of barn cats. She took part of the local 4-H swine club for 9 years. In 2016, Lisa graduated from the Animal Health Technology program through Olds College in Alberta. Lisa completed her required practicum for the program here at Sage Creek and officially joined the Sage Creek family in April of 2019.

Lisa finds treating in-hospital patients very rewarding. The best part is caring for them and being able to watch them get better. Lisa is passionate about making your experience the best it can be for you and your pet. As well as, giving the pet and the bond the owner shares with their animal the respect and care they deserve. Lisa has taken extra training through the Companion Animal Euthanasia Training Academy.

Lisa and her husband, Wesley, have 2 dogs and a cat. Her cat is Krieger. The older dog, Dobby, loves to play chase. Her second dog is Rip Riley – he’s the star if our clinic video and you may have noticed that he has no eyes. He was hit by a car when he was 3 months old and both his eyes were severely damaged and needed to be removed. As you can see, it doesn’t slow him down! When not at work, Lisa enjoys running, biking, hiking, camping and can often be found reading a book.
